Become an EM

Would you like to become an

EXTRAORDINARY MINISTER OF HOLY COMMUNION

Once again, the Diocese of Rockville Centre will be sponsoring training

and formation days for women and men interested in becoming Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion.
These are men and women who distribute Communion at Mass and/or to the homebound.

What does it take to be an Extraordinary Minister?

* Participation in Sunday Eucharist
 * Commitment to serve each month
* Attendance at the Diocesan Training, along with a Parish Training
* Attendance at TWO Liturgical Ministers’ Meetings per year

If interested, please write a brief letter to our Pastor, Fr. Don Babinski,
stating your desire to become an EM
and what led you to this decision.

Training sessions take place in the Spring and Fall.

If you have any questions, please contact Barbara Wilson at 581-4266, x107
or email bwilson@parishofstmary.org

Members of the Homebound Eucharistic Ministry bring Holy Communion to members of the Parish who are not able to attend Mass regularly because they are frail, elderly, homebound, or suffering from an illness.  Homebound members of our Parish should be made to feel just as baluable as those who are able to attend Mass.  It is made know to them that their prayers for the church and parish are still needed and appreciated.  They are part of our Parish family and deserve to participate in receiving the Eucharist as part of that fanmily.  We are looking for individuals who would like to learn more about this special ministry.  Training is required.

If interested, please write a brief letter to our Pastor, Fr. Don Babinski, stating your desire to become a Eucharistic Minister, and what led you to this decision.
Training sessions take place in the Spring and Fall.
Once we have received your letter, we will contact you with training dates and information.

Any questions regarding Communion to the homebound,
please call Sister Patty Tippen at (631) 581-4266 x134.
