Vacation Bible School

A note from our VBS Director, Jess Otto.

Hi everybody! I hope that you are all healthy, safe and finding a little piece of joy each day!

I know how hard it can be but we need to remember that Jesus is always with us and we can always ask him for help!

If you know me, you know Vacation Bible School is something that brings me joy and happiness every  single year. I find such delight in seeing all of your smiling faces singing, laughing and learning about our Lord and our faith. It is my personal Christmas time and it makes my summer even more fun!

As I am sure you know, there is a lot of preparation that goes into a program of our size!  It takes months! In January, the team and I decided which programs we would use.     I started to recruit more adults to the team and began the paperwork process.  In March, we opened registration and the team began our official planning meetings!  And then this unprecedented event happened in our world and life had changed.  Over the last 8 weeks in quarantine, we kept planning on Zoom, through calls and texts in the hopes we would be able to host VBS.  We talked at length and prayed about how we should  move forward with our program.

With a current stay at home order and an uncertainty of what life will look like after the order is lifted, we have unfortunately come to the decision that we have to cancel VBS for this summer . We know new guidelines will be set by the CDC for gatherings  but without definite knowledge of what they will be - we just dont see how we can host our program.  . The  safety of the children and volunteers is our number one concern and we  believe this is the best decision for right now.

If you have already registered, your money will be refunded over the coming weeks. Thank you for your patience as we prepare it.

This is one of the saddest and  hardest things I’ve had to share and I cannot being to tell you how much  it pains me. I love VBS and love to see how God changes everyone involved with it. So from the  bottom of my heart, I am so so sorry. Thank you for your understanding  and support.  We hope to be back next year - in whatever way God wants us to be!  Please know you are in my prayers as I hope I am in yours.  Thank you and  God Bless You!
